CUHK LAW Prof. Mara MALAGODI edited with Professors Luke McDonagh (City) and Thomas Poole (LSE) the symposium on New Dominion Constitutionalism for the International Journal of Constitutional Law (ICON) in issue 17:4. She authored the article “Dominion status and the origins of authoritarian constitutionalism in Pakistan” and co-wrote with Professors McDonagh and Poole the introduction to the symposium “New Dominion constitutionalism at the twilight of the British Empire: An introduction” and the framework article “The Dominion model of transitional constitutionalism”. CUHK LAW Prof. Rehan ABEYRATNE has contributed the article “Uncertain sovereignty: Ceylon as a Dominion 1948-1972” to the collection. The ICON symposium on New Dominion constitutionalism, which will be launched at CUHK in April 2020, sketches the legal configuration of New Dominion status as the first constitutional model of note to manage political transitions on a global scale.
