In this online seminar, Mayer Brown partners Alvin Yeung and Pheona Chow will provide an introduction to the Hong Kong legal system and the real estate market. They will cover the property title system, property ownership and property development. Practical tips with respect to real estate investment including investment structures and stamp duty will also be covered.

About the speakers:

Alvin Yeung is a partner of the Real Estate Development team in Mayer Brown. His practice covers a wide range of real estate development related matters, including land sale and acquisition, sale and purchase of special purpose vehicles for land holding, leasing of different types of real estate property, advising on property related dispute resolution and litigation including compulsory sale, adverse possession, tenancy dispute and building management dispute, development project sale and leasing, advising on land title, easement and right of ways, building management, joint venture agreements and development agreements and revitalisation of buildings.

Pheona Chow is a partner of Mayer Brown. She focuses on real estate development works and has advised on a wide range of matters throughout the cycle of real estate development in Hong Kong. These include land acquisition (by way of tender, private treat grant, surrender and regrant, exchange and strategic acquisition of old buildings), government lease modification, development and redevelopment agreements, development services and project management agreements, building appeal on rejection of general building plans, project conveyancing, building management matters, property related litigation and commercial tenancies.
