CUHK LAW garnered significant honors at the 2022 Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition International Rounds

The International Rounds for the 2022 Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition (25 March-9 April) have come to a close, and CUHK LAW has garnered significant honors. After winning the Regional Rounds (19-20 March), out of 160 teams in the International Preliminary Rounds, CUHK LAW progressed to the Advanced Rounds, where approximately 90 teams competed. On the way to reaching the Advanced Rounds, CUHK LAW faced teams from Germany (Bucerius Law School), the Netherlands (University of Amsterdam Law School), and Singapore (National University of Singapore Faculty of Law).

The CUHK LAW Team won some prestigious awards at the International Rounds, including the Alona E. Evans Award for Second Best Memorial (out of approximately 200 teams) and the award for Second Best Applicant Memorial. In addition, out of approximately 400 oralists at the Advanced Rounds, CUHK LAW Team members Christopher Gin was honored as the 4th Best Oralist, and Harry Tsang as the 21st Best Oralist.

The CUHK LAW Team, coached by Prof. Gregory GORDON, Joshua YEUNG, and Ann LEE, consisted of members Jandy YUEN (LLB), Harry TSANG (LLB), Christopher GIN (PCLL), Alvin WONG (PCLL), and Jack LEE (JD). The team’s student coach was Sabrina LAU (JD).

Established in 1960, the Jessup Moot is the largest international mooting competition in the world, attracting participants from almost 700 law schools in more than 90 countries in recent years.
