Posted on 29 August, 2019

Congratulations to our graduates CHUNG Cheuk Kwan Benny (JD and PCLL) and YEUNG King Lun Joshua (LLB) on winning the Hong Kong Scholarship for Excellence Scheme 2019-20.

The Hong Kong Scholarship for Excellence Scheme (HKSES) is set up by the Hong Kong Government to support outstanding local students to pursue studies in world renowned universities outside Hong Kong. Competition for the HKSES has always been fierce with 813 applications received this year. CHUNG Cheuk Kwan Benny and YEUNG King Lun Joshua have been selected as two of the 15 awardees for postgraduate programmes. CHUNG Cheuk Kwan Benny will study the Bachelor of Civil Law at the University of Oxford, and YEUNG King Lun Joshua will study the Master of Law at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom.

I am thankful to be one of this year’s 15 postgraduate HKSES awardees. This year, 3 of the 15 postgraduate HKSES awardees will pursue further legal studies overseas, with 2 being graduates of the CUHK Faculty of Law, and such a result, in my opinion, once again reflects the high level of student support provided by and the quality of the Faculty of Law. Meanwhile, it was great to meet several fellow CUHK alumni (coming from different faculties) in the HKSES Award Ceremony, and I hope we will make CUHK proud. Finally, I am grateful to the Faculty of Law and members of the Faculty for their generous support and constructive guidance provided to me in the past few years.” said CHUNG Cheuk Kwan Benny.
