The 12th Annual Intellectual Property Conference “Technology and Legal Frontiers in Global Pandemics: Risk Management, Capital Mobility and Intangible Assets” (Online)

The 12th Annual Intellectual Property Conference “Technology and Legal Frontiers in Global Pandemics: Risk Management, Capital Mobility and Intangible Assets” co-organized by CUHK LAW, United States-China Intellectual Property Institute (USCIPI) and Asia Innovation and IP Society (AIIPS) was successfully held online on 31 July 2020. Having attracted around 350 attendees, the conference served as a hub to discuss and reflect intellectual property (IP) issues surrounding COVID-19, artificial intelligence, intangible cultural heritage, technology investment and transfer during the global pandemic, new developments of patent law in Europe and the United States, trade secret protection in China, and patent filing strategy in Hong Kong. Speakers included esteemed scholars and practitioners from Asia, Europe and the United States. CUHK LAW Professors Steven Gallagher, Jyh-An Lee, and Bryan Mercurio spoke respectively on the interface between IP and intangible cultural heritage, artificial intelligence, and patent licensing issues regarding COVID-19.
