Seminar on ‘From a Legal Perspective: The Impact of COVID-19 on Hong Kong’s Children’

9 April, 2021

CUHK LAW hosted an online CPD seminar ‘From a Legal Perspective: The Impact of COVID-19 on Hong Kong’s Children’ on 9 April 2021.  The seminar was given by Professor Anne Scully-Johnson, who shared her research findings on the impact of COVID-19 on law-related aspects of Hong Kong children’s lives. Professor Scully-Johnson concluded that the pandemic highlighted existing flaws in Hong Kong’s child and family law and proposed a comprehensive package of legislative reform to update the law, adopting a multidisciplinary approach. Professor Scully-Johnson’s presentation was followed by an engaging Q&A session where issues around child protection, family violence and specialist child advocates were discussed.
