The CUHK Vis Moot Team continued their success in the 2019 Vis Moot in Vienna by winning the second place in the “Write The Award” Competition in October 2019.

Three members from the Vis Moot Team, CHAN Chun Hei Alex (PCLL), CHAN Yik On (LLB) and HO Ngai Sum (PCLL), participated in the “Write the Award” Competition. In the Competition, participants were required to submit an enforceable arbitral award based on the problem and issues argued at the Vis Moot this year.  The arbitral awards written by the participants were judged by Fellows of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators from Canada, England, Mexico, and the USA. Having participated in the Vis Moot as Advocates, the CUHK Vis Moot Team took the role of an International Arbitral Tribunal in writing the arbitral award and won the second place.

The Competition is co-sponsored by the Blakely Advocacy Institute at the University of Houston Law Center and the North American Branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
