CUHK LAW took second place and won Best Oralist Award at the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition Regional Rounds held on 27 and 28 February 2021

CUHK LAW took second place and won Best Oralist Award at the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition Regional Rounds held on 27 and 28 February 2021.

The CUHK LAW team, coached by Prof. Gregory GORDON, consists of members Warwick CHAN (LLB), Jason CHENG (LLB), Sonder LI (LLB), Velda YAU (PCLL), and Joshua YEUNG (PCLL). The team’s student coach is Kerry POON (PCLL).

The CUHK LAW team first mooted in the competition’s general rounds competing against other local law schools. The highest-ranking teams then proceeded to a Grand Final round before a tribunal consisting of Mr Geoffrey Ma Tao-li GBM QC SC, the former Chief Justice of the Court of Final Appeal as the Presiding Judge, Mr Wesley Wong Wai-chung SC, Solicitor General of the Department of Justice of Hong Kong, and Mr Jin Pao SC, Barrister at Temple Chambers. In addition to taking second place, the CUHK LAW team secured the competition’s Best Oralist Award (Joshua Yeung).
