Congratulations to CUHK LAW team on winning the second place at the 12th International Air Law Moot Court Competition held on 19-21 May 2021.
16 teams including National University of Singapore, Singapore Management University, Leiden University and three Indian teams who had qualified the national rounds participated in the international round. At the semi-finals, CUHK LAW competed with University of Mississippi School of Law (US) and Sri Lanka Law College. Based on the quality of the written memorial and the pleading performance, CUHK LAW was chosen to be the best team of the Respondent.
The final was chaired by Ms. Regula Dettling-Ott (internationally-renowned aviation lawyer), with the two other judges: Mr. Michael Whitaker (Former Deputy Administrator of the US Federal Aviation Administration) and Mr. Jiefang Huang (Legal Director of the International Civil Aviation Organization). At the grand finale, CUHK LAW competed with Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University (India) who ultimately won the competition.
This is CUHK’s 4th Air Law Moot team consisting of Evelyn Shun Wai CHAN (LLB), Leann Long Yi AU (JD), and Amanda Long Yi HUI (JD) with the student coach Colbert Tsung Yi HUNG (PCLL). Since its first participation in 2018, CUHK Air Law Moot team has emerged as one of the strongest teams including winning the Best Respondent Memorial in 2020. The team has been coached by Prof. Jae Woon LEE.
