Ms. Shuqin MEI 梅书琴女士

Ms. Shuqin Mei is a Ph.D. candidate at the Faculty of Law, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK LAW). She received her LLM degree from Tongji University, and she was a visiting researcher at the University of Tübingen in 2021. Her research areas include Criminology, Criminal law, and Socio-Legal Studies.

THESIS TOPIC

Politics, Culture, and Law: Exploring the Challenges of Identifying and Prosecuting Human Trafficking in China, co-supervised by Professors Michelle MIAO and Jingyi WANG.

RESEARCH INTERESTS AND AIMS

I am interested in Criminology, Criminal law, and Socio-Legal Studies. With my thesis, I hope to explore the anti-human trafficking challenges encountered by law enforcement in China and the multidimensional political, social, and cultural dynamics surrounding anti-human trafficking challenges. It is hoped that my doctoral dissertation will significantly contribute to anti-human trafficking research.
