Ms. Jingwei LIU is a Ph.D. candidate at the Faculty of Law at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She received her Master’s degree in Law from East China University of Political Science and Law. Her research interests revolve around law and society, empirical legal studies, and feminist jurisprudence.

THESIS TOPIC

Sexual Harassment and Violence in the People’s Republic of China: Gender Inequality in the Legal Process and Victims’ Participation Empowerment, co-supervised by Professors Kevin CHENG and Christopher ROBERTS.

RESEARCH INTERESTS AND AIMS

I am interested in law and society, empirical legal studies, and feminist jurisprudence. With my thesis, I hope to take a qualitative approach to understand sexual harassment and violence against women in the PRC from the perspectives of victims and legal professionals.
