Learning the Law and Legal Skills through Mooting

Mooting is an important aspect of legal education where law students are assigned a hypothetical case to present before a court or tribunal.  Traditionally mooting was used as a primary method of training for law students. Moot problems require students to practice their skills of fact mastery, legal research, problem analysis, drafting and oral advocacy.  At CUHK LAW, JD students are able to participate in many international mooting competitions.

To introduce applicants to the JD Programme, CUHK LAW is organizing a talk by Peter Rhodes, Professor of Practice in Law, who will speak about the value of mooting activities and why many JD students enjoy and are eager to participate in our mooting programme during their studies. Hazel Tang,a recent JD graduate, will discuss her international mooting experience and how it greatly helped in her legal studies and future legal career. Details are as follows:

Venue: Moot Court, CUHK Graduate Law Centre, 2/F. Bank of America Tower, Central, Hong Kong.

Participants who are not in Hong Kong may attend the event online via ZOOM.
