Chris has been practising as a solicitor in Hong Kong since 1981.  In 1987 he founded his own firm and was its senior partner for 25 years.  He continues to practice, on a limited basis, as both a solicitor and Notary Public with a local firm.  His main areas of interest are criminal law and procedure, criminal practice, professional practice and advocacy.

He is a co-author of 'Criminal Litigation in Hong Kong' published by Sweet and Maxwell and now in its Third Edition.

He has been a member of the Criminal law and Procedure Committee of the Law Society of Hong Kong for many years.  He is also a member of the Law Society's Risk Management Education Accreditation Sub-Committee.

For several years he served as an examiner for the Overseas Lawyers' Qualifying Examination.

More recently, he has been a regular speaker at the Joint Training Programme organized by the Department of Justice, the Bar Association and the Law Society of Hong Kong for lawyers who wish to act as prosecutors in the magistrates courts.

Chris joined the Faculty as a Professional Consultant in 2012.  Before doing so, while still in private practice he had taught aspects of criminal practice, professional practice and advocacy to law students and practitioners at various institutions in Hong Kong.
