Seminar on ‘Exploring the Development of HK Lawyers in the GBA and the Modernization of Legal Services Empowered by AI’

The CUHK LAW GBA Forum seminar ‘Exploring the Development of Hong Kong Lawyers in the Greater Bay Area and the Modernization of Legal Services Empowered by Artificial Intelligence’ delivered by The Honourable Eunice Yung was held on 2 June 2025 and attracted more than 750 attendees, both in-person and online.

Drawing on her expertise both in law and computer science, Ms. Yung discussed how Hong Kong lawyers can thrive in the GBA amid ongoing technological developments. She highlighted the importance for legal professionals to adapt to the evolving legal landscape, where cross-border legal services and digital tools are becoming increasingly integral. Ms. Yung also shared her experience as a mediator in Hong Kong, underscoring the growing role of mediation in the region’s dispute resolution ecosystem. She encouraged Hong Kong lawyers to proactively develop mediation skills and explore new business opportunities in this area, particularly with the upcoming establishment of a new international mediation organization in Hong Kong. This talk also highlighted the career and business opportunities for lawyers and other professionals within the GBA.
