Prof. Luke MARSH was invited to give a presentation on his new book, Research Handbook on Plea Bargaining and Criminal Justice (Edward Elgar, 2024), along with co-editors Prof. Mike McCONVILLE (Emeritus Professor, CUHK LAW) and Prof. Máximo LANGER (President of the American Society of Comparative Law).

Bringing together established and emerging scholars from around the world, this Research Handbook examines the history, practice, underlying issues and future evolution of plea bargaining, through which guilty pleas are secured and trials are avoided. 

The book presentation opened the conference on “Negotiating Justice – Global Trends and the New Challenge of the European Public Prosecutor’s Office” organised by the Universities of Genoa and Girona on 27 and 28 June 2024.
