Dr Evan Gibson joined the Faculty of Law at The Chinese University of Hong Kong as an Assistant Professor in 2023. Prior to that, Professor Gibson was the Research Assistant Professor (law) with the HKU- Standard Chartered Foundation FinTech Academy at the University of Hong Kong. Professor Gibson’s research and teaching specialises in financial law and regulation, banking law, financial technology and the law, corporate law, economic law and comparative law. His research is published in world-renowned books and peer-reviewed journal articles including inter alia Cambridge University Press, Oxford University Press, Edward Elgar, Routledge, Sweet & Maxwell, and he has worked with the European Central Bank and the Asian Development Bank. Professor Gibson holds a LLB and BCom (Finance and Accounting) from the University of Queensland, a LLM from the University of Sydney, and a PhD from the University of Hong Kong.
