Samuel completed his Juris Doctor at CUHK, graduating on the Dean’s List, before reading for an LLM in International Commercial Law at UCL, where he received a Distinction. Whilst at university, he represented his institutions in various international and domestic mooting competitions, winning multiple awards. He was called to the Hong Kong Bar in 2022, the same year he received the Charles Ching Memorial Scholarship.
From 2020 to 2021, Samuel served as a Judicial Assistant at the Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal, assisting judges from Hong Kong and other common law jurisdictions with substantive appeals and applications for leave to appeal.
Before joining the Bar, Samuel trained as an auditor with Deloitte, gaining strong expertise in accounting and commercial matters.
Samuel has published in leading law journals, with his work cited in Hong Kong and internationally, including in Snell’s Equity and Bowstead & Reynolds on Agency — the leading authorities on trusts and agency law — as well as by two apex courts, namely the Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal and the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
Samuel also undertook the Advanced Advocacy Training Course at Keble College, University of Oxford with full sponsorship from the Hong Kong Bar Association.
