HKSAR Government's Strive and Rise Programme: Visit to CUHK LAW

On 20 May 2023, CUHK LAW hosted 25 Secondary 1 to 3 Strive and Rise Programme students and their respective mentors at the Shatin Campus. The visit included welcoming remarks given by Prof. Queenie Ying Lai, CUHK LAW Associate Dean for Teaching and Learning, an interactive law teaching session in Cantonese, small group sharing and a campus tour led by CUHK LAW LLB students (Samuel Lo, Gideon Ho, Bonnie Lau, Jason Cheung and Adrian Chan).

HKSAR Government’s Strive and Rise Programme, led by the Chief Secretary’s Office and the Social Welfare Development, was launched to support Form 1 to Form 3 students from disadvantaged families (especially those living in “subdivided housing”). The aim of the programme is to encourage participants to broaden their horizons, strengthen their self-confidence, establish a positive outlook on life and strive for upward mobility. The Chinese University of Hong Kong launched the “Visit the Chinese University of Hong Kong Series” for the participants to visit the eight Faculties of the University.
