We invite submissions for the 2025 CUHK LAW Digital Harms Conference, an online gathering of researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and advocates working to address the growing challenges of harmful digital communications.
Conference Focus
This interdisciplinary conference will examine emerging forms of technology-facilitated abuse including but not limited to:
• Intimate image abuse and non-consensual sharing
• Synthetic media misuse and deepfakes
• Online harassment and cyberstalking
• Digital coercive control
• Platform governance and content moderation
• Technological and legal interventions
Submission Topics
We welcome papers addressing:
• Research findings on prevalence, impacts, and patterns
• Legal frameworks and regulatory approaches
• Platform responsibilities and technical interventions
• Support mechanisms for those affected
• Ethical considerations in research and practice
• Intersectional perspectives on digital harms
• Educational and prevention strategies
Important Dates
• Abstract submission deadline: 15 Jul 2025
• Notification of acceptance: 1 Aug 2025
• Conference date: 10 Oct 2025
Submission Guidelines
Abstracts should be 300-500 words in length and clearly state research questions, methodology, findings, and implications.
Conference Format
The conference will be held entirely online, featuring panels of 3-4 speakers.
