MOOTING COMPETITIONS

CUHK TEAMS AWARDED HONOURABLE MENTION IN VIS MOOTS IN HONG KONG AND VIENNA

A team of CUHK law students participated in the Vis (East) International Commercial Arbitration Mooting Competition in Hong Kong from 15 to 22 March 2015. The team comprised Keith Cheung (JD), Kenneth Cheung (JD), Candice Lau (JD), George Lau (JD), Jennifer Leung (LLB), Lisa Li (JD), Gain Suen (JD), Moonar Tsoi (JD), Charlotte Wong (LLB) and Tonny Yu (JD). The CUHK team competed against 107 law schools from around the world and ranked the 5th in the competition. The team also awarded the “honourable mention” for Claimant‘s Memorandum. In addition, Charlotte Wong, Jennifer Leung and Tonny Yu being awarded an “honourable mention” for their oral advocacy skills.

The CUHK team also participated in the Vis International Commercial Arbitration Mooting Competition in Vienna from 27 March to 2 April 2015. The team performed very well and won an “honourable mention” for Claimant’s Memorandum.

Both teams were coached by Professor Peter Rhodes, and CUHK moot veteran, James Ng (PCLL), Vivian Lau (PCLL), Cynthia Or (PCLL) and Zena Yuen (PCLL).
