MOOTING COMPETITIONS

CUHK LAW WON AN HONOURABLE MENTION (TOP 10%) IN VIS VIENNA MOOT

19 – 24 March, 2016

The team of the Faculty of Law of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) participated in The Annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna from 19 – 24 March 2016.  After tough preliminary round moots with law schools from around the world, CUHK team was qualified for the competitive rounds, through which the team advanced to the final 32 teams from the 310 participating teams.

Salman Tariq, a JD student member of the team, won an Honourable Mention (Top 10%) for his advocacy at the competition.

The team consisted of Alan Lee (PCLL), Chester Kwan (JD), Cristen Bauer (JD), Frank Tsui (JD), Hermia Chik (PCLL), John Fong (JD), LK Shiu (JD), Patrick Lau (JD), Pauline Fong (LLB), Phyllissa Chan (PCLL), Raymond Shek (LLB) and Salman Tariq (JD).  It was coached by Professor Peter Rhodes and Charlotte Wong (LLB), George Lau (PCLL), Jennifer Leung (LLB) and Tonny Yu (PCLL), all of whom were members of last year’s team.
