CUHK LAW Team was quarter-finalist and won Second Honourable Submission for Defendant Memorial in the 22nd Red Cross International Humanitarian Law Moot

The 22nd Red Cross International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Moot was held from 6-9 March 2024 in Hong Kong. After rounds of intensive competitions, the CUHK LAW Team progressed to the Quarter-final Round and was awarded the Second Honourable Submission for Defendant Memorial.

The IHL Moot 2024 was co-organised by the Hong Kong Red Cross and the International Committee of the Red Cross in collaboration with the University of Hong Kong and The Chinese University of Hong Kong. This year’s moot problem addressed vital questions of religious freedoms clashing with international law during modern warfare, and raised intriguing issues of aiding terrorism, child soldier recruitment and prisoner interrogation. Judges of the Moot included local and overseas legal practitioners, academics, and members of the International Committee of the Red Cross. Further details are available here.

The CUHK LAW Red Cross Moot Team consisted of Tracy CHUNG (LLB), Molly LI (JD), Chloe TUNG (LLB) and Tiffany ZHANG (JD). They were coached by Mr. Arthur LEE and student coach Michael LEUNG (LLB).

Congratulations to the team on their achievements!
