CUHK LAW team performed with distinction in the 21st Willem C. Vis East International Commercial Arbitration Moot

The CUHK LAW team performed with distinction in the 21st Willem C. Vis East International Commercial Arbitration Moot held in Hong Kong from 10 – 17 March 2024.

CUHK LAW was the only Hong Kong team that qualified for the elimination  rounds of the competition, where it advanced to the final 16 out of 140 participating teams from law schools from around the world. During the competition CUHK LAW argued against teams from France (Paris-Versailles), Germany (Mainz and Cologne), USA (George Washington) and India (National Law, Raipur and Hyderabad).

The team won an Honourable Mention (top 10%) for the Best Written Memorandum for Respondent.

The oralists for the team were Cyrus LI (PCLL) and Adelaide KWAN (LLB), who were supported by other team members including Francis CHAN (LLB), Heidi CHAN (LLB), Adrian CHU (LLB), Shine FENG (PCLL), Wing Lam FOO (LLB), Cecilia LIU (PCLL), Anthony QIAO (JD), Fontane WONG (PCLL), Harry WU (LLB), and Tom YAN (LLB). The team’s coach was Prof. Peter RHODES and the student coaches were Bonnie NG (PCLL), Hazel TANG (PCLL), Katie CHENG (LLB), and Nicholas CHU (LLB).
