David Tilt is Research Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Prior to joining CUHK, David was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Tokyo College, University of Tokyo. His research has mostly focused on intellectual property and interdisciplinary approaches to patent law, with his most recent articles analysing the relationship between AI and the patent system from a global perspective. David’s current major project is on the use of AI in the development of new pharmaceuticals across the UK, EU, US, and Japan to explore the impact of AI on fundamental principles of patent law. He was a Global Teaching Fellow at the University of Mandalay in 2019 and an Invited Foreign Researcher at the Institute for Intellectual Property (Tokyo) in 2019-2020.
