MentorConnect 2026 Kick-Off Luncheon

16 March 2026

CUHK LAW held the MentorConnect 2026 Kick-Off Luncheon today at the CUHK Graduate Law Centre, bringing together 18 distinguished alumni mentors and 42 motivated postgraduate student mentees.

Prof. Chao Xi, Dean of CUHK LAW, delivered opening speech, extending sincere gratitude to all mentors for generously volunteering their time, energy and professional wisdom — and for choosing to give back to their alma mater to support current students after graduation. Prof. Xi noted that in the AI era, while AI can solve many practical problems, it can never replace genuine human connection. He emphasised that the core purpose of MentorConnect is to bridge this gap, enabling mentors and mentees to communicate deeply, build real bonds, and grow together. He encouraged both parties to fully engage, openly share, and thrive alongside one another in the days ahead.

During the luncheon, mentors and mentees engaged in meaningful conversations, exchanged insights, and built valuable connections to support their academic and professional journeys.

We sincerely thank every mentor for their generous dedication and invaluable support. With this encouraging start, we look forward to a fruitful year of learning, growth and lasting bonds for all mentors and mentees.
