LLM Alumni Sharing (Online)

CUHK LAW proudly invites all applicants to the LLM programmes to join an alumni sharing to benefit from the experience of CUHK LAW LLM alumni. Nine alumni of the LLM in International Economic Law, the LLM in Chinese Business Law, the LLM in Common Law and the LLM in Energy and Environmental Law will share their experience to help applicants get a better understanding of the CUHK LAW LLM programmes, the life of a student in Hong Kong and at CUHK LAW, and the different career options after taking the LLM. The event also aims to create ties between alumni and future students and to strengthen the existing CUHK LAW alumni network.

About the Speakers:

LLM in Chinese Business Law     

Anasha Flintoff is currently working as a graduate lawyer in the Real Estate and Development / Environment and Planning team at Allens in Melbourne. Last year, she graduated from both the JD program at Melbourne Law School and the LLM in Chinese Business Law at CUHK. Prior to this, she completed a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Melbourne in 2016, majoring in Politics and International Studies and Sociology. She is passionate about environmental law and also enjoys outdoor activities like rock climbing, hiking and cycling.

Patcharanee Jetiyanont graduated from Chulalongkorn University LLB programme with honors, then she came to Hong Kong and obtained LLM in Chinese Business Law from CUHK in 2018. Afterwards, she went to Australia and graduated from Macquarie University LLM programme in 2020. She is now preparing herself for the barrister and judge exams.

Siyi Lin is currently a lawyer at King & Wood Mallesons (KWM). She holds an LLB degree from China University of Political Science and Law (2014), an LLM in Chinese Business Law and PhD degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (respectively 2015 and 2019). After obtaining her PhD degree, Siyi first joined KWM Hong Kong office and then relocated to Shenzhen office last year. Her practice mainly focuses on M&A, foreign direct investment, private equity and venture capital.

LLM in Common Law

Jason Lim graduated from CUHK LLM in Common Law in 2019.  He is a CPA with more than 20 years of experience in MNCs and start-ups. He is a member of CPA Australia, holds an MBA from the Macquarie Graduate School of Management and a GMP graduate from Harvard Business School.

Huicheng Zhou obtained his first law degree from mainland China. After graduated from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, he obtained the LLM in Common Law from CUHK. Then he joined Linklaters as a legal assistant in 2018 and worked there for around two and a half year. During his time at Linklaters, he finished another LLM programme at UC Berkeley. Currently he’s working as an associate at Morgan Stanley.

LLM in Energy and Environmental Law

Qing Gan graduated from the LLM in Energy and Environmental Law from CUHK in 2020. She has been a qualified lawyer practicing in commercial and civil dispute settlement in the PRC for more than four years. Recently, she has moved in-house to work in a leading energy company based in Shanghai.

Lan Wu graduated from Jinan University in 2018 with a LLB and a BA in Business English. She went on to obtain the LLM in Energy and Environmental Law from CUHK in 2019. She developed research interest in legal aspects of renewable energy integration during the study at CUHK and continued working toward a PhD in Laws expected in 2023.

LLM in International Economic Law

Shasha Li graduated from the East China University of Political Science and Law LLB, then joined the LLM in International Economic Law in 2016. After her legal studies, she joined a leading law firm, then moved in-house to work in a leading Chinese financial institution.

Maggie Zhang graduated from the China University of Political Science and Law in 2016 with a LLB degree. She obtained the LLM in International Economic Law degree at CUHK in 2017. In 2018, Ms. Zhang became a PhD Candidate at CUHK LAW with the research focus on international economic law and energy law. She has passed the National Judicial Examination in mainland China.
