At CUHK LAW, legal education extends far beyond the classroom.

Through the CUHK LAW United Nations International Law Commission Research Assistant Programme, our outstanding LLB students have the opportunity to gain first-hand experience at the forefront of international law in Geneva, Switzerland.

Supported by a Faculty bursary, LLB students Charles Chan and Yueyun Hu spent two weeks in May/June 2026 serving as Research Assistants under the supervision of Professor Martins Paparinskis, a globally respected international lawyer and member of the United Nations International Law Commission representing Latvia and the Baltic States.

This unique experience allows students to observe the work of the International Law Commission, the United Nations body responsible for the progressive development and codification of international law, while contributing to cutting-edge legal research in a truly international setting.

This Programme offers an extraordinary opportunity for aspiring lawyers to broaden their horizons, engage with global legal issues, and witness international law in action.
