Since 2016, the IP Ambassador Programme has been a collaborative initiative jointly organised by the Intellectual Property Department (IPD) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, CUHK LAW, and the other two law schools in Hong Kong. On 13 October 2025, the IPD hosted a dual ceremony to mark the closing of the IP Ambassador Programme 2024/25 and to welcome the new cohort for 2025/26.

This year, thirty-one students from CUHK LAW were honoured with the “IP Ambassador” certificates conferred by the IPD. Throughout the past academic year, these students delivered informative talks on intellectual property to pupils at primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions. In addition, they were invited to participate in a range of IP-related events organised by the IPD, offering them invaluable exposure and insight into the field.

During the ceremony, Mr David WONG, JP, Director of IPD, and Prof. Jyh-An LEE both underscored the significant achievements of the IP Ambassador Programme. They highlighted that the initiative not only affords law students the opportunity to put into practice the knowledge gained in the classroom before graduation, but also plays a vital role in nurturing the next generation of innovators and creators, thereby contributing to the future development of Hong Kong as a hub of innovation and creativity.
